Education Scotland is making changes to the national curriculum, so we have taken this opportunity to review and improve our curriculum rationale.
We have gathered views from a variety of stakeholders, including pupils, parents and staff. At Brunstane Primary School, it is important that everyone’s views are heard and respected.
What makes Brunstane Primary School unique?

It is important that our new curriculum reflects our school values and what makes Brunstane Primary School unique.
A Curriculum for the Future

Our pupils are growing up in an ever-changing world, so it is important that our curriculum can provide pupils with the opportunities to develop skills and capabilities that can help them navigate this. It is important that our curriculum supports the development of:
- Digital skills
- Data Literacy skills
- Creativity
- Life skills
- Emotional literacy and resilience
A Curriculum that reflects our school community
We are a diverse school that has pupils from a range of social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. It is important that our curriculum reflects the diversity and experiences of all pupils.

Our curriculum should celebrate the strengths of our school community and provide opportunities for local partnership working. It should also provide pupils with the opportunity to give their views on their community and how to make it better.
Staff at Brunstane Primary School are now going to use the views of all stakeholders to help develop a shared vision, values and aims that will act as a foundation for our new curriculum rationale.
